Markneukirchen violin, Stradivari model, ca. 1930

This violin is a piece of shining beauty that was built approx. 1930 in the well-known German violin making town of Markneukirchen. It is an example for the medium arched instruments, that were designed after successful Stradivari patterns and were highly sought-after internationally. Violin makers in Saxony managed to convince many musicians especially in the U.S. with these quality violins at quite economical rates. The violin offered here is one of those pieces that were built for export, as the model label "Antonius Stradivarius - Made in Germany" indicates. Its top features a medium arching and was crafted of beautiful, medium grained spruce with interesting grains. Just as the eye-catchingly flamed maple of the one-piece back with its interesting texture, it is decorated by a very transparent, golden orange colored varnish. The fine purfling represents the premium quality of this undamaged instrument, that has developed patina and features some traces of use, according to its age. It was worked over thoroughly and professionally in our workshop and is offered ready to play. The convincing, warm and large sound of the violin unfolds with a bright character and bears some sweet notes in the upper ranges.
