Czech Graslitz violin, Willy Köstler
This lovely instrument was made around 1920 by an experienced violin maker of the Willy Köstler ateliers who adhered to the excellent craftsman traditions of Bohemia. The top is of finely-grained spruce and the two-piece back of gently flamed maple – very good and visually appealing tone woods, and their selection and craftsmanship indicate great expertise in the field. The violin has been meticulously worked over in our atelier and is offered ready to play. The subtle antiqued touches of the luminously radiant orange brown varnish were successfully executed. Its exceptionally good, mature and clear sound which combines precision, brilliance and resonance full of overtones and strength.
