old French Mirecourt Violin bow
An old French Mirecourt violin bow, a work of the Bazin school. The bow was made around 1940 in Mirecourt, France. The round stick is of medium strength and very elastic. The stick is and made of fine quality brown pernambuco wood. The ebony frog is nickel mounted with pearl eye and pearl slide. The adjuster with an ebony ring. The weight is 62,3 g, the bow has its balance point in the lower third towards the middle. A beautifully active bow, that is offered ready to play, producing a dark, clear and a bit mellow tone.
