Silver mounted German viola bow, active and strong
Silver mounted German viola bow, active and strong

Silver mounted German viola bow, active and strong

The good silver mounted viola bow presented here features solid quality, comfortable playing properties and an unusually pleasant sound. It was made in Germany in approximately 1980, the stamp on shaft above the frog is unfortunately undecipherable. Its weight distribution is strikingly good, with a balance point that feels broad and centrally positioned thanks to the octagonal stick of pernambuco, a silver-mounted frog with a three-piece button and a well crafted attractive head. The delicate Parisian eye on the frog is an ornament serves as a tribute to the great French bow making tradition. This strong and active viola bow is also ideal for sophisticated musicians and creates a pleasantly bright, clear, precise, fluid sound. This viola bow is therefore especially well suitable for violas with a mellow, perhaps a bit unprecise sound.
