7/8 - fine French Stradivarius copy *** (sold)
A smaller old french violin. The violin was made around 1930 as a close copy of Antonius Stradivarius, the origin is Mirecourt. The woods are well selected. The top is made of medium grained spruce, the two piece back of attractive flamed maple. The soft varnish is a rich oil based varnish of a warm orange-brown color with little signs of use. The violin is despite some varnish retouches (mainly bridge region) undamaged, crackfree and perfectly preserved. The sound is extraordinarily powerful, clear and carrying. This small violin is our special recommendation.
