18th century Mittenwald violin
A very beautiful 18th century violin of the Klotz school. The instrument is a fine Mittenwald piece of work that was made around 1780. The typical soundholes are thoroughly and beautifully worked out. The top is made of fine grained spruce, the two piece back of flamed maple. The violin is well preseved and in good condition. Some repairs to the top, the back and ribs are crackfree. A neck repair, the button is not original. The violin is set up and in full playing condition. The strong mature sound is clear, dark and focussed and well balanced.
