Lightweight Otto Dürrschmidt violin bow

An ultralight violin bow by Otto Dürrschmidt, Markneukirchen. The bow was made in the 1970ies and bears the Otto Dürrschmidt stamps on shaft and on the frog. The round stick is medium soft, highly elastic and made of red pernambuco wood. The ebony frog is nickel mounted with pearl eye and pearl slide. The weight is as low as 50,0 g, the length 74,3 cm. This bow is a rare ultralightweight bow, hair and leather are new, the winding is original. The balance point is in the lower third towards the middle - the bow is well balanced. Produces a bright, open sweetish tone.
