AUDIO

A good German violin after Nicolaus Amati. The instrument was made around 1920 in Saxony, Germany. With a length of back of 36,7 cm the violin is well suitable for large players. The violin is labelled Nicolaus Amatus indicating the model. The violin was built from quality tonewoods: the top made of medium to fine grained spruce, the one piece back of flamed maple. The shiny varnish is a spirit varnish of a warm red-brown color. The soundholes are made in the Italian style. The violin is crackfree, undamaged and set up with a new bridge, soundpost and a new set of Pirastro strings. Bridge and soundpost are by Joachim Roy Mittenwald. The warm dark sound is well-balanced, clear and strong in character with a mellow undertone. Special recommendation!
