Fine Leipzig violin by Johann Glass
The instrument is a fine Leipzig violin made by Johann Glass, maker of artistic violins. The violin was master made in 1914, it bears the original dated label by Johann Glass. Johann Glass was repairer and restorer of the Gewandhausorchester and worked until the age of 80 in 1927. The model is after Stradivarius with nicely worked out archings. The varnish is an oil varnish of a golden orange color with expertly made antiqueings. The violin is undamaged and perfectly preserved. It's bright brilliant tone is clear, carrying and rich in overtones yet with a mature character. Special recommendation!
