1/2 - very good sounding Bohemian violin
The instrument is an old Bohemian (Czech) 1/2 size violin made around 1970. The individual model having a strong Italian character is quite unsual for a small violin. The top is made of medium grained spruce, the two piece back of narrow flamed maple. The varnish is a rich spirit varnish of an orange-red color over a yellow ground. The scroll is broad and deeply cut, the pegbox nicely finished. The violin is crackfree and undamaged. It has been set up by our luthier with a new bridge, soundpost and Pirastro strins and is in immediate playing condition. The sound is clear and strong, mature, and unusually strong for a 1/2 size violin. Special recommendation!
