Antique Mittenwald violin from the Mittenwald violin-making school, 1919

Since 1858, the Mittenwald violin making school has taught its students the art of crafting instruments, and over the years countless masters have emerged from its ranks. This magnificent and luminously golden-yello Mittenwald violin with a 1918 dated orignal label by the Mittenwald violin making school is an outstanding quality handmade instrument, what with its meticulous craftsmanship and the outstanding quality of its sound. It is actually the work of an exceptionally talented journeyman who created it in 1918, and it has been frequently played and remained in unusually good condition since. The expertise which went into crafting this premium violin is evident in the well carved scroll and accurately executed edgework and sound holes. The rich coat of golden-yellow spirit oil varnish is in excellent condition. The violin was made of the finest Mittenwald tone woods and has a powerful, clear sound — darker in the lower registers, and bright, sweet and open in the upper registers. It is preserved in crackfree condition.
