Elegant Markneukirchen violin bow
This Markneukirchen violin bow was made around 1950 and is the strikingly lovely work of an unknown bow maker. The slide and the Parisian eye are made of deeply luminescent, turquoise-coloured mother-of-pearl, the kind of which is rarely found amongst bows in this price category. A narrow ebony ring decorates the button and gives the bow further elegance. Good-quality dark brown pernambuco was selected for the round, pliant stick and enhances the bow's sophisticated aesthetic. Last but not least, the 74.3 cm long bow has convincing musical properties. Its balance point is measured at 26.0 cm from the end of the frog and feels as if it tends towards the tip. The bow is well balanced and lets musicians enjoy dynamic, agile playing with a warm, resonant sound.
