Antique Czech/Bohemian violin with a clear, dark sound

An old Czech violin with a large, rounded, voluminous sound, handmade in Bohemia in the 1930's. Some older varnish damage spots on top and mild traces from playing underlines the antique appearance of this beautiful Czech violin that was made early in the 20th century around 1930. Traces of use indicate that this instrument has a rich musical biography and was often and intensively played. Due to its individual, somewhat bold character the violin sets itself apart from ordinary standard instruments. The orange-brown varnish was applied over a lighter ground and bears sublte antiqueings. As remarkable as the violin's non-standard appearance is its powerful sound: clear, dark and powerful, rich in overtones.
