1/2 - good antique German Saxonian violin
This graceful little instrument was manufactured in Saxony respectively the Vogtland at the beginning of the 20th century by an unknown but skilled luthier. It is astoundingly well preserved, though it emphasizes its antique status. The transparent and shiny varnish is virtually scrapeless, even the deeply flamed maple back. The beatiful dark brown color seems warm and friendly. It matches perfectly with the plain but elegant design of the violin's body. The neatly crafted tonewoods endow the small violin with an extraordinary full and resonant sound. The bright, warm and crystal tones coming from the inside of the instrument make it a worthy representative of the traditional Vogtland string industry.
