corilon violins

Large Saxonian violin after J.B. Schweitzer

The beautiful, antique appearing violin was handmade in Saxony at the beginning of the 20th century. The obviously skilled and experienced luthier designed his work after the model of J. B. Schweitzer, indicated by the label inside the violin. Several traces of use, darkened edges and a wonderfully patinated and slightly craquelled golden brown varnish bear witness to the high age of the antique instrument. Due to the violin's length of back of more than 36 cm, it suites especially well for adult musicians. Its tonal qualities also match the high demands of advanced players. The violin's multifaceted sound spectrum is warm, very strong and powerful, open, resonant and dominant. The instrument was professionally set up and tonally adjusted by our luthier and is ready to play.
