German violin bow in the style of Vuillaume
This magnificent violin bow was skillfully made in Germany in the 1920ies. It was built in the style of the French master Vuillaume, obvious in the neatly worked out head and the Vuillaume-style frog. The fine round stick is highly elastic, made of fine reddish brown pernambuco wood and has excellent tension. The sensed balance-point of this violin bow is centered, with a slight tendency towards the head. The measured balance point is at 26.5 cm from the frog end. The frog is made of deeply black ebony wood with German silver mounts. All parts of this antique violin bow are in perfect condition. The bow produces a clear, bright and slightly sweet sound. Special recommendation.
