Old Markneukirchen viola by Nicolaus Bernhard
This is a beautiful viola in perfect condition; it was built by Nicolaus Bernhard in keeping with traditional Markneukirchen craftsmanship. The body of the instrument measures 38.5 cm and was made of the finest soundwoods. It has a flat arch. The beautiful, even grain of its spruce top and the deeply flamed, two-piece maple back have a luminous golden-brown varnish with a light, transparent patina. Subtle details such as the precisely carved sound holes and the accurate purfling were cleanly executed. The historic instrument is undamaged and in excellent condition. The viola was professionally reworked and its sound was refined to perfection. Its radiant sound is warm, clear, precise and equally balanced over all of the strings. Our special recommendation!
