Modern violin by Lorenzo Vencich, Italy
This modern violin of the Italian school by Lorenzo Vencich demonstrates craftsmanship of very good quality: it is a precise and refined piece with exceptionally delicate purfling and an interesting scroll which combines Italian and Bohemian characteristics. The top is made of two pieces of finely to moderately grained spruce; the two-piece back features elegantly symmetrical and deeply flamed maple. The thick, gentle, typically Italian oil varnish is very transparent, and its golden-yellow puts the beautiful grain of the sound woods in the most appealing light. The violin is in very good condition and undamaged with the exception of a repair made to the peg box. Its sound is bright, brilliant and powerful, with a very slight sweet undertone that is highly appreciated in Italian instruments.
