Old Mittenwald violin by J. A. Baader (sold)

An antique high quality Mittenwald violin made by J. A. Baader 1892. The violin is labelled with the original Baader label and dated 1892. The violin is a typical piece of the Mittenwald school from the turn of the century. The varnish is a water-based finish that was typically used in Mittenwald violin making. The color is an intense dark red-brown over a golden-yello ground. The violin is completely undamaged and in perfect playing condition. The sound is a typical Mittenwald tone, clear and powerful, well projecting with a dark and nuttily note. Comes with a certificate of value.
