Old, Mittenwald orchestra violin with a dark, clear tone, 1950's

This simple but recommendable Mittenwald violin was built in the mid 20th century and is a good example of quality handcraftsmanship with a very strong and excellently balanced sound, dark, clear and rich in overtones. It was built after Stradivari patterns and is preserved exceptionally well, especially the beautiful lorange-brown varnish. The top of the instrument was made from medium grained spruce, the two-piece back is from flamed maple. It is an undamaged and strong sounding, good quality handmade instrument from the traditional center of violin making in Bavaria.
