Antique 1920's Bohemian viola
This antique quality viola was built in the 1920s by an unknown Bohemian violin maker, on behalf of the Stanislav Brázda company in Pilsen, Czechoslovakia, as the original label inside the body indicates. The instrument is a piece of good craftsmanship following Stradivari patterns, that was made of selected premium tonewoods. The two-piece back is made of finely flamed maple, the table of spruce with beautiful, impressive grain. The well-done carving of the scroll characterfully completes the instrument´s appearance. Intense traces of use and several varnish defects bear witness to the fact that previous owners appreciated its lovely, light and warm, precise sound. This nice viola was carefully worked over by our luthier and is offered in ready to play condition.
