1/8 - French 1/8 violin by J.T.L.

This French 1/8 violin is an extraordinarily well preserved instrument by Jérôme Thibouville-Lamy, that was built approx. 1950 after the "Médio-Fino" model of the renowned J.T.L. ateliers. It bears the corresponding label besides another label "Lutherie Danvil, Nogent-sur-Marne" that indicates most presumably the workshop where the violin was sold for the first time. The violins flawless and practically unused condition is underlined by the nice, shining orange-golden varnish. Top and back of the 1/8 violin are one-piece made as it is typical for Médio-Fino instruments, as well as the scratched purfling. Our violin maker thoroughly checked the 1/8 violin and applied new rosewood pegs to make it perfectly ready to play. Although children's violins have certain limitations due to their small size, this 1/8 violin´s light and warm sound with a soft undertone is surprisingly good and highly motivating.
