Old violin from Saxony, approx. 1940 - warm, dark, mellow sound

This old quality violin from Saxony in Germany is a good quality handmade instrument, that was made around 1940 as a piece of well-educated, solid Saxonian craftsmanship. It is an unlabeled instrument that was probably made in the workshop of A. C. Gier in Markneukirchen as is evident in the overall style of workmanship. The medium grained spruce of the top was well chosen, the violin is covered with a highly transparent varnish of golden-brown color that is in like-new condition. Like all violins from Corilon violins the violin has been meticulously set up by the experienced luthiers in our atelier and is immediately ready to play. The violin features a beautiful voice that is full of character, warm, dark, and somewhat mellow in the lower ranges, singing and resonant in the higher ranges.
