E. Sartory, Paris: Rare French violin bow (certificate J. F. Raffin)

Nowadays it is very rare to encounter bows by French classic master
Eugène Nicolas Sartory (1871-1946) which are still original down to the smallest detail. This particular E. Sartory violin bow is around 100 years old but still features the original winding and the ivory tip plate which E. Sartory himself fashioned. The elegant, round stick is made of beautiful reddish-brown pernambuco and features E. Sartory's stamp E. SARTORY PARISover the frog; the ebony frog has a silver mounting and a Parisian eye. With its clear, strong and sophisticated sound, this fine E. Sartory bow meets the highest standards which can rightfully be expected of its famous origin. It is sold with a certificate of authenticity by Jean-François Raffin in Paris.
