This exzellent silver mounted violin bow with a large matured sound is a fine piece of work of the Knopf school Markneukirchen. The Knopfs are a family of bow makers with long tradition, the ancestor is the Markneukirchen local Christian Wilhelm Knopf. This exzellent violin bow stamped J. Knopf is pristine condition. The strong, yet active round stick is made of red brown pernambuco wood of the finest quality. The delicate ebony frog is silver mounted and decorated with a Parisian eye and an attractive pearl slide. The bow measures 74,5 cm and has its felt balance-point in the center. The measured balance-point is at 24.9 cm including the adjuster. This silver mounted J. Knopf violin bow has excellent tonal and playing qualities and deserves our special recommendation.
