This rare antique German violin bow was fashioned of the best quality 19th century materials in Markneukirchen in the late 19th century. It is a fine German violin bow unmistakably made in the Knopf Markneukirchen workshop around 1880. Its featherweight yet strong round stick is made of top-quality pernambuco, and the ebony frog features nickel fittings, a mother-of-pearl eye and a three-piece button. This interesting antique violin bow has its balance point well centered, giving the violin bow extra lightness in the hand and given its strong playing qualities excellent playability, suitable for strong virtuoso play. This antique German Knopf workshop violin bow is in excellent condition and was made ready to play in our workshop and draws a fine sound that is clear, noble, fluid and resonant.
