It seems that this German violin has traveled far and wide in the approximately 70 years since it was built for an Amercian violin shop, obviously in Saxony, a journey that is indicated by the label "G. C. Urban, General Music Dealer, Teacher, Cleveland/Ohio", that is attached beside the well-known Stradivari label for the well-proven model of the instrument. This "German-American" violin features unmistakably individual character with an elegant, slim shape, a mellow arching and very transparent oil and spirit varnish of intensive orange-red color. Two repairs at the outer f-holes towards the edges are without any impact on the sound of this violin of sound, that was completely worked over in our workshop and is offered ready to unfold its strong, bright sound, that is rich in overtones, radiant and clear.
