This instrument dating back to 1948 ranks amongst the sought after violins crafted in the atelier of French luthier Amédée Dieudonné. It is a bright sounding instrument of beautiful quality and was patterned after a famous historical model. Born in 1890 in Mirecourt, Amedee Dieudonné enjoyed international renown in the field of making artistically perfect and musically expressive replicas of premium historical instruments. Even this workshop violin reveals why Amedee Dieudonné's peers deemed him to belong to the league of the most influential figures in French violinmaking, such as Nicolas Lupot and Jean-Baptiste Vuillaume. The unusually lovely flamed maple used for the two-piece back, ribs and neck was a masterful choice for the tone wood. With its radiant, singing voice that is rich in overtones, this French Amedee Dieudonne violin is with minor repairs a superb selection for professional musicians. We can recommend this instrument to demanding players. Its provenance is confirmed by the original label.
