German Cello bow by Franz Chalupetzky

This excellent cello bow was crafted approx. 1940 in the renowned workshop of Franz Chalupetzky in Dinkelsbühl, Bavaria. It bears the original stamp of Chalupetzky on the stick above the frog and features a balance-point that is sensed well-centered and measured at 24.2 cm of the bow´s total length of 71.6 cm, including the adjuster; the total weight is 82.9 g. The relatively long head of the round pernambuco stick determines the elegant design of the bow. This style is completed by the nice nickel mounting of the ebony frog with mother-of-pearle eye and slide and a three-part adjuster. Our expert luthiers thoroughly worked over this perfectly preserved bow and made it ready to play, a recommendable piece that feels comfortably light in the hand.
