This French 1/2 cello bow bearing the stamp "Gérôme Devoivre" is an elegant piece that features excellent sound and playing properties. It was built in the workshop of
Roger Gérôme in Mirecourt approx. 1960. The active, strong round stick was made of pernambuco wood and is a clear example of good craftsmanship, as the activity of the stick and the tastefully made frog demonstrates. The nickel mounted ebony frog is decorated by beautiful Parisian eyes, a yellowish-white shimmering mother-of-pearl slide and a one-part adjuster. This 1/2 cello bow is perfectly preserved and has its balance-point well centered, measured at 23.5 cm of 61.1 cm total length, including the adjuster. It was worked over in our workshop and is offered ready to play, with a special recommendation due to its strong, large, precise and clear sound.
