Simple but excellent French violin bow, approx. 1920

This simple but highly recommendable French violin bow was made in Mirecourt around 1920 and is made of light-brown brasil wood, probably in the Laberte Ateliers. The distinctive ebony frog is nickel mounted and has a Parisian eye. The stick of medium strength plays fluidly and does not accept too much pressure at play. It has a round diameter and features a surprisingly good combination of balance and stiffness: it feels lighter than its actual weight suggests and is well balanced with its perfectly distributed diameter and a centered balance point. The bow has a total length of 74.6 cm. This simple but truly useful French Mirecourt violin bow is - like all violin bows from Corilon violins - ready to play and embodies all of the excellent playing attributes that bows from France are sought after for. With its large, warm yet precise, noble quality sound of typical French character this violin bow is an excellent choice at the price.
