This delicate and extremely elegant antique 3/4 violin was crafted in the late 19th century in Mirecourt - most likely in the successful derazey workshops. It is a striking instrument, not only because of its graceful shape, but most notably due to the wonderful tone of its reddish-brown varnish. Great care was taken to correct minor scratches so as to restore the instrument's perfect beauty. The finely-grained spruce of the top and the one-piece maple back with its magnificent deep flames give the instrument an exceptionally lovely sound. This violin has a very mature character — warm and bright, full of lyrical resonance in the upper registers and and marked by a rich warmth in its lower registers. This historic instrument has no cracks and is a very rare violin, ideal for demanding parents and children. We set up the violin in our atelier, and it is now ready to play.
