This French 1/2 violin, a Breton model with a recommendable sound was made in the traditional French violin making village Mirecourt around 1920. The 1/2 violin is labelled with a "Breton Brevete" label indicating the model (model after Antonius Stradivarius). Quality tone woods are well selected: the top is made of medium to wide grained spruce, the most attractive two piece back of wonderful mildly flamed maple. The violin varnish is of a luminous and intense orange-brown color over a golden yellow ground, in good condition. This French 1/2 violin with a recommendable sound has been professionally set up in our atelier for lutherie and is offered in perfect condition. Her sound is warm and mature, of good strength and with beautiful resonance in the higher ranges.
