Contemporary Italian violin, Gianni Norcia, Bologna

Fine workmanship in the details and the expressive elegance of this contemporary Italian violin by Gianni Norcia, which is around 15 years old, is exceptional even for contemporary medium priced stringed instruments from Italy. Its brilliantly crafted and expressive scroll and the gentle flaming of the two-piece maple back as well as delicately inlaid purfling shape the aesthetic of the Gianni Norcia violin, and the finishing touch is the gleaming and intensely luminous orange-brown oil varnish. The coat of varnish is thick, highly transparent and glossy, playing up the violin's refined style. This good contemporary Italian violin bears the orignal label and brandstamp. After having been meticulously worked over, set up and tonally adjusted at our atelier for restoration, this fine quality contemporary Italian violin is now ready to play. The fine sound, which is balanced across all of the strings, is bright and warm, with a perfect response and an unmistakably Italian note. Gianni Norcia has been portrayed in Jost Thöne's publication "Contemporary Violin Makers - Vol. 1", Jost Thoene Verlag (2015). The price includes the original maker's certificate by Gianni Norcia which can be viewed by a click on the "certificate" button.
