TONALLY OPTIMIZED: Interesting Southern Italian violin, early 20th century

TONALLY OPTIMIZED: This modern Italian violin is the ideal choice for concertmasters and soloists — an assertive instrument with a voice that is powerful, brilliant, rich in overtones and radiant. It was crafted in the early 20th century and patterned after a very broad and sturdy model with a moderately high table and ribs, reflecting an interesting and mature design concept. On the inside of this perfectly preserved undamaged instrument, there is a label and a certificate by Italian organization ANLAI referring to Enrico Politi (the certificate can be viewed by a click on the certificate button below), but in our opinion no further verification can be gleaned about its provenance. Whereas the name of its true maker has been lost to history, this full-blooded Italian violin’s clear and distinctive style clearly places its origins in Sicily or elsewhere in southern Italy. Its acoustic character is a magnificent match with its self-confident appearance, which is evident in the unconventional carving of the large and expressive scroll. A thick coat of orange-red oil varnish elegantly harmonises with the beautiful grain of the premium-quality spruce and interesting structures of the fine tight flames of the maple used for the two-piece back. We have meticulously set up the violin, and it is now ready to play. The experts at our workshop recommend it to sophisticated musicians who are interested in a “purebred” Italian string instrument with a respectable volume.
