1/2 - old German violin c.1930
An old german half size violin. The violin is a saxon manufactured instrument made around 1930 on a model of Antonius Stradivarius. It is labelled accordingly. Ein entsprechendes Etikett ist innen angebracht. The top is made of medium grained spruce, the two piece back of mildly flamed maple. The violin is despite some wear and scratches to the varnish mainly on top undamaged with no cracks or repairs. The new bridge and soundpost are by Joachim Roy Mittenwald; a new Wittner Germany tailpiece with four integrated fine tuners and a set of Pirastro strings are new as well. The violin is in immediate playing condition. The pleasant sound is warm and mellow, even and well balanced.
