Old Italian violin, Naples

A 20th century Italian violin made around 1940, likely in Naples. The delicate model is slim and elegant. One piece top of irregular spruce, the back is a one piece back of maple with vertifcal figure. The ribs of similar wood. The small scroll with the very long pegbox is after the neapolitanian school. The varnish is exceptionally beautiful: it is of an intense golden-yellow, greatly transparent but still with deep flaming colors. The violin has three uncritical and professionally made repairs on top and is otherwise undamaged. The sound is sweet and well balanced with a mellow character in the lower ranges. Comes with a certificate of origin and value by expert appraiser Christian Lijsen, Munich.
