Antique French violin by Barbe with exceptional sound qualities: This violin was handmade in Mirecourt in 1873. This pretty 19th century violin is a very good sounding model after Stradivari with well worked out arching. The purfling is a particularly beautiful handmade work and finished in a high quality manner. The top is made of regular medium grained spruce, the one piece back of deeply flamed maple. The transparent orange-brown varnish is of a warm luminous color with wonderful patina. This attractive French violin is in very good condition, crackfree and undamaged. The sound is warm, voluminous and strong, radiant in the trebles. Comes with an optional certificate of appraisal and - like all our violins and bows - includes Corilon's trade-in guarantee.
