Old French violin, J.T.L. - Jerome Thibouville-Lamy

This old French violin was made around 1900 in Mirecourt, it was made in the workshops of Jerome Thibouville-Lamy J.T.L. in Mirecourt and it bears a corresponding label. The broad model is after Stradivarius, the archings are of medium height featuring softly worked out flutings. The top is made of medium grained spruce, the two piece back is made of mildly flamed Vosges maple. The aged, honeybrown colored varnish is very beautiful indeed and shows only minor signs from playing. This undamaged French JTL violin is preserved in excellent condition - a very minor optical flaws have no impact on the sound or stability of the violin. Like all old stringed instruments in the Corilon violins online catalogue, this good J.T.L violin has been meticulously worked over by the luthiers in our atelier and is offered ready to play. The recommended sound is clear, dark and balanced - and very projective.
