German violin bow by Roderich Paesold - a soft player

This older German violin bow was handcrafted in the 1970's in the long-established Roderich Paesold workshops, that were founded in 1848. The light-brown colored stick is made of pernambuco wood and bears the well-known "Paesold" stamp over the frog. A nice and tense piece with both a powerful stick, elasticity and balance that feels lightweight in the hand and which is strong yet somewhat forgiving at play. The nickel mounted ebony frog is decorated with a Parisian eye and a white-green-rose shimmering mother of pearl slide. The total length of the bow is 74.1 cm, total weight 58.2 g, with a measured balance point at 25.0 cm that is sensed very central, offering best playing qualities. This typical good quality Paesold violin bow is offered ready to play and produces a warm, strong sound.
