Master violin of unknown origin, c.1960/1970, Galimberti copy

This modern master violin of unknown origin was probably made in Hungary, around 1960/1970. It is a beautiful copy of Luigi Galimberti. A facsimile label of Galimbverti indicates this copy. The unknown master proudly left his personal tool mark in the inner pegbox. The tone woods are well selected: the top made of medium grained spruce, the two piece back of finely flamed maple. Beautiful master work can be seen in the archings of top and back, and the individual shape of the scroll. The varnish is an oil varnish of quality in texture and color, his result is very close to Galimberti, and of a bright golden yellow color. The slightly patinated varnish is well preserved and in excellent condition. This enigmatic violin is completely undamaged and in perfect condition, like all instruments oiffered by us completely worked over and ready to play. Her well-balanced sound is warm, bright and open, generally a bit mellow and sweetish in the upper ranges.
