A fine old French violin made by René Bernardel. The instrument was made in 1924 in Paris. The violin bears the original signed and dated label, it is numbered 13. The elegant model is after Stradivarius. The top is made of wide to fine grained spruce (fine grained spruce in the middle), the two piece back of flamed maple. The bright varnish is of an intense golden-yellow color with some minor scratches and signs of playing. This old stringed instrument is perfectly preserved, crackfree and in undamaged condition. The powerful bright sound is clear and rich in overtones, becoming a bit mellow in the lower ranges. No nasality as it is known for many French instruments.
