French Mirecourt 1/2 sized viola

This French 1/2 sized viola with a mellow sound was made in Mirecourt around 1900. The tonewoods are of quality and typical for the Vosges region: the top is made of medium grained spruce, the two piece back of mildly flamed maple. The glossy, transparent varnish is of a bright golden-brown color, with only minor traces of use and in excellent condition. This small French 1/2 viola is crackfree and after having been worked over by our luthiers offered in immediate playing condition. Her bright, lovely sound is warm and with a mellow note.
