Powerful Mittenwald violin from the Mittenwald violin-making school, 1960's

Since 1858, the Mittenwald violin making school has taught its students the art of crafting instruments, and over the years countless masters have emerged from its ranks. This fine quality magnificent and luminously red-oange Mittenwald violin with stamp by the Mittenwald violin making school is an outstanding quality handmade instrument with its meticulous craftsmanship and the outstanding quality of its sound. It is actually the work of an exceptionally talented journeyman who created it in the 1960's, and it has been frequently played and remained in unusually good condition since. The expertise which went into crafting this premium violin is evident in the well carved scroll, the finely carved soundholes and accurately executed edgework. The rich coat of dark red-orange oil varnish is in excellent condition, with minor signs from shoulder rest playing mainly on the back and ribs. The violin was made of the finest Mittenwald tone woods and has a powerful, clear, warm, large sound — darker in the lower registers, and bright, sweet and open in the upper registers. It was sold as a master instrument in the 1960's and is preserved in excellent, crackfree condition. Completely worked over by our luthiers and offered ready to play.
