Excellent Markneukirchen violin bow

This skillfully made German violin bow was handmade around 1930 in Markneukirchen in Saxony. The violin bow was crafted with much attention to local bow making tradition and thorough workmanship, especially the frog and the head are accurately carved and neatly finished. The round stick is made of light brown pernambuco wood of the best quality. The stick is of medium strength and plays fluidly and actively and with beautiful elasticity. The ebony frog is nickel mounted, decorated with a blue-green shimmering pearl slide. It has been widened at thumb position. The bows felt balance point is well centered, measured balance-point is at 24.8 cm from the frog end. The violin bow measures 74.8 cm and produces a recommendable warm, bright sound with some mellow notes. Complements well bright, clear, brilliant and sharp sounding violins.
