Decorated, antique 1850's German Klingenthal violin

The wonderful antique decorations on the back underline well the antique appearance of this mid 19th century Klingenthal violin. The decent traces of use and the slight patina add a matured character to the instrument. The aesthetic workmanship of a skilled and experienced luthier becomes obious in the delicate purfling and the well selected materials. Especially to be mentioned is the quality of the moderately grained spruce top and the deeply flamed two-piece maple back. The bright, clear, resonant sound of this 19th century German violin which is rich in overtones and ringing. The instrument is perfectly preserved and offered in excellent condition.
