1920's Italian violin by Stefano Caponetto (certificate Christian Lijsen)

Catania in Sicily (Italy) is the place where this recommendable early 20th century Italian violin originates from: The Sicilian town belonging to the Val de Noto. A violin of simple elegance that was made in the ateliers of "Liuteria Stefano Caponetto", bearing the original label, dating to circa 1920. This Sicilian violin by Stefano Caponetto features a typical scroll, and specially selected tonewoods - top and back plates of two piece Sicilian wood which is softer in structure than the commonly used Alpine woods. The rich and glossy varnish is an attractive intensely colored dark red orange oil based varnish. This old violin is offered undamaged, and after having been worked over by our specialistst in excellent condition, her sound bright, clear and open with the desirable Italian character. Included in the price is a certificate of authenticity by Munich expert Christian Lijsen.
