French violin by Francois Pillement

This perfectly preserved antique French violin by Francois Pillement was made in Mirecourt in the early 19th century, it bears the original brandstamp inside. The elegant model with its rich and shiny varnish appears very classy. The intensely dark-bordeaux brown colored varnish is well patinated and in excellent condition for a violin of this age. The top and back are made in one-piece, irregular medium grained spruce was used for the table and flamed maple for the one piece back. An interesting early French violin by Francois Pillement - The sound is unique: clear, bright and with a noble undertone, somewhat medium in power and slightly nasal.
