Fine 19th century English violin bow

This artfully elaborated English violin bow was crafted by unknown master hand in England in the late 19th century. The octagonal stick is made of finest quality pernambuco wood of good tension and elasticity, the color is a light golden-brown. The delicate head, unmistakably English, shows finest workmanship, the frog is a later work of probably German Markneukirchen origin - made in fine silver mounted quality with a three-part silver adjuster. This perfectly balanced violin bow feels lightweight in the hand, it measures 73.8 cm and its perceived balance point is well centered, slightly inclined towards the upper half of the stick. Its measured balance-point is at 24.8 cm from the frog end. This fine English bow is a medium strong player, a very good bow that produces a rich precise noble sound, bright, sweet and clear with volume and resonance.
