Mirecourt - old French violin "Sebastien Kloz", c.1940

Mirecourt in the Vosges department, France, is considered as the capital of French violin making, where early manufactories were established producing high quality instruments. Many of those are imitating patterns of the best masters, in this case Sebastian Klotz of Mittenwald, indicated by the label „Sebastien Kloz“ as inside the French violin presented here. Built around 1940, this good instrument is especially suitable for orchestral use, with its typically French, dark, clear sound. The two-piece back is made of sycamore maple and has a typically pronounced French fluting. It has been meticulously worked over in our atelier and is offered ready to play, it is completely crackfree and undamaged. The sound is powerful and strong, dark and clear in character.
